I am Casey Ellyson and I am a recent graduate looking to use my creative, leadership, and problem-solving abilities in the film industry. I attended WashU in St. Louis, earning a degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in film and media studies. Soon after, I participated in the Warner Bros. summer film program at the University of Southern California.
I am seeking an entry-level job in television and/or film. I’ve been an avid storyteller via film since my early “flip-camera” days, and this focus has remained. In college, I pursued MechE because I enjoy math and science, as well as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. Even so, I minored in film and media studies, knowing that the combination of these disciplines would fit within the industry. I plan to use my passion for storytelling and technical skills to offer a unique perspective.
At the USC summer program, I wrote, directed, and edited while collaborating with talented crewmates. I experienced how filmmaking requires ingenuity, trust, diplomacy, and a diverse array of creative skills. At the end of the program, I was honored when the class chose my original screenplay as the representative showcase film.
I have so much to learn, and I am looking forward to building my experience.
